THE CRAFT SECTOR, DEDICATING A SPACE TO EMBLEMATIC AWARDS

The Rising Talent Awards are evolving to shed light on fine crafts: SAFI, organiser of Maison&Objet*, and Ateliers d'Art de France have worked together to create this new category to meet the expectations of buyers and their appetite for the attractive values of the crafts: creative ability, creation of unique pieces or small series in the fine craft workshop, with a concern for quality and durability.

At each edition of MAISON&OBJET*, this new international winner of the Rising Talent Awards CRAFT will exhibit on the CRAFT TALENTS pavilion in the heart of Hall 5A, in the CRAFT sector, dedicated to fine crafts from all over the world. He will present his unique pieces on his stand alongside another awarded creator, selected by experts to distinguish a fine craft creator based in France, thanks to the competitions organised by the fine craft federation: the Ateliers d'Art de France Competition and the Young Creative Craftsworker’s Award.

The winners of the Prix de la Jeune Création Métiers d’Art at Maison&Objet

As a talent-spotting event since 1960, the Prix de la Jeune Création Métiers d’Art (Young Fine Craft Designers Award), organized by Ateliers d’Art de France for fine craft artisans under 35, recognizes a new generation of talents each year.

Rising Talent Awards France 2023: Liberty, novelty, creativity!

After Spain, the Rising Talent Awards are returning to France to reveal this year the talent of seven young designers or studios who imagine the future of design. They meet at Maison&Objet to present their pieces, future best-sellers of a market they are working hard to transform in depth. Let’s meet in Paris with these seven signatures committed to exploring seven cardinal virtues leading to an exciting “French-Design Revolution.”

Muller Van Severen, "Designer(s) Of The Year" 2023

This is no longer news: the once clearly drawn boundary between art and design has seemed less permeable than in the past ten years. A little over a decade was precisely when the Flemish Muller Van Severen took to mature and impose a unique stylistic language whose porosity between the creative fields has become its signature. Saluting this decade of innovations shaking up the interior design codes, Maison&Objet names Fien Muller and Hannes Van Severen “Designer(s) of the year 2023”. This distinction will be awarded to them during the upcoming edition of the show, from September 7 to 11, for which the Belgian duo is offering a “cocoon exhibition”—a unique dive into their imagination.

A talent scout all over France!

Since 2012, over 120 winners have been named and supported by the Ateliers d’Art de France Competition. Shining a spotlight on the artistic vitality and excellence of fine craftsmanship within France, it recognizes exceptional pieces from all French regions, created by supremely talented professionals. These regional winners include two national award-winners that Ateliers d’Art de France supports in exhibiting at major international trade fairs (Salon International du Patrimoine Culturel/International Fair for Cultural Heritage, and the international biennale for fine craft and creative design, Révélations), and most notably, at the Maison&Objet* fair, thus offering them access to the market and massively increased visibility.

Life through the lens of fine crafts

This June, Ateliers d’Art de France has announced the four winners of its Young Creative Craftworker’s Award for 2021. Four fine craft artists each boasting a blend of specialist know-how and one-of-a-kind flair.
