Designer & Co-founder - Hall Haus
Designer who graduated with honours from the prestigious ENSCI Les Ateliers, Teddy Sanches interrogates his practice thanks to the underground and African culture in which he grew up. It was with this dynamic in mind that, straight out of school, he formed the Envahisseurs collective with his sister Deicy Sanches, putting hip-hop dance at the heart of their work and winning the Audi Talents and Villa Kujoyama awards. And in 2020 he co-founded the Hall Haus studio with Abdoulaye Niang, Sammy Bernoussi and Zakari Boukhari. Launched directly by the ‘À l'Oeuvre’ residence of the Lafayette Anticipations Foundation, they have recently entered the collections of the Mobilier National.
Designer, Scenographer, and Architectural Researcher
Franck Houndégla is a scenographer, designer, and PhD architect who works across exhibition design, museums, performing arts spaces, living environments, and the revitalization of public and heritage sites in France and internationally (Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and North America). He teaches in the design department at the École supérieure des beaux-arts de Bordeaux and is also an author of fiction and research articles. He holds degrees in design (DNSEP and Postgraduate degree from ÉNSBA Lyon) and a PhD in architectural research (Université Paris-Est / IPRAUS Laboratory – ÉNSA Paris-Belleville). From 2012 to 2015, he was the artistic director of Liaisons urbaines, a program dedicated to the revitalization of public spaces in African cities through interdisciplinary interventions combining urban planning, design, art, and cultural heritage. The program engaged residents, municipalities, cultural institutions, and local creatives—designers, architects, and visual artists—and was supported by the Institut français, in partnership with the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine (Paris) and the École du patrimoine africain (EPA, Porto-Novo). Recent projects include serving as curator and scenographer for Singulier Plurielles. Dans les Afriques contemporaines at the Biennale Internationale Design Saint-Étienne 2022; scenographer for Le Monde d’après, 1944–1954. Des lendemains qui chantent ? at the Musée d’Aquitaine in Bordeaux (2025); curator and scenographer of the Benin Pavilion at the 2024 Venice Art Biennale; and scenographer of the new permanent exhibition at the Museum of African Contemporary Art Al Maaden (MACAAL) in 2025.
