The wellbeing experience: 200 sqm of happiness

One can look at upcoming trends or test new practices to understand the new wellness market better. Both options will be made possible in the same place at the fair—with an authentic experience of well-being.

In September 2023, Maison&Objet opened a new sector dedicated to wellness and beauty. In January 2023, three months later, we can expect waiting lists to participate in the workshops offered by Marina Mussat for the second edition of The Wellbeing Experience. “All the sessions were full in September; people were queuing,” the creator of Seinographe explains. Mussat is at the forefront of wellbeing-related events she regularly hosts in her Parisian boutique. “At Maison&Objet, the participants came from the design and the art of living worlds and were not necessarily familiar with wellness,” she continues, “and yet, even those closest to this type of holistic experience were very open and fond of discovering new practices."

In this space entirely dedicated to the perspectives and practices associated with well-being, the analysis of the trend and its future will be dissected by Fashion Snoops thanks to lively and interactive scenography. Three significant areas of development identified by the agency will be presented educationally: Symbio tech and the emergence of technical solutions, Longevity and the contribution of biosciences to soften the effects of aging, and finally, Introspection and the means to reconnect with our emotions. Three trends made “experienceable” at the show with the help of partners at the forefront of the realm of well-being.

“The idea is to go a little further in immersion,” claims Marina Mussat, who will invite us to immersive yoga sessions with Parisian studio MyGinger where we follow positions on our mat surrounded by 360° videos of mountains, underwater landscapes or the cosmos. Alongside the high-tech proposals to be tested at the show, everyone will be able to familiarise themselves with ancestral but still relevant techniques. Interior designers will be able to learn about Indian Feng Shui “Vastu Shastra” and discover how the ancient practice can be applied in an interior or a store. Among the area’s new features, the Beauty Bar will welcome a different brand every day to offer a taste of a “beauty food” product. How can we say no to a chocolate bar that only wants us good?

With the Dream Machine experience by Ho Karan, the space will even accomplish a small feat: plunging the visitor into the heart of the trend while extracting them for a few minutes from the bustling reality of the show. These semi-psychedelic relaxation sessions combine hypnosis and meditation, sounds, and pulsing lights to enhance sleep and creativity or overcome anxiety.

Contrary to what one might imagine, the show has already proven to be an ideal place for wellness. In September, visitors exhausted by jumping from meeting to meeting, running marathons in the aisles, or jetlagged could measure the benefits of these practices thanks to regenerating naps on crystals organised with the Yoga and Well-Being Centre Element. A dose of light therapy, a hint of sound healing: the ideal airlock before discovering the Wellbeing and beauty sector.
