Junot, a family-run group specializing in Parisian real estate, is now a partner of Paris Design Week. With delight and a sense of heritage, the properties sold by their agencies reveal the true art of living in Paris.
The talent of French designers and interior decorators would have much less resonance without the showcase they thrive in. For nearly 40 years now, the Junot agencies have been enhancing the value of their clients’ real estate assets. The story of Junot began in 1984, with the first agency opened by Martine Kuperfis in Montmartre, specifically on Avenue Junot. Along the hillside, this avenue offers an ideal setting, lined with Art-Deco or Anglo-Norman-style villas. Her son, Sébastien Kuperfis, joined her in 2006 to shape the development of the firm along with his wife, Anne, who envisioned and expanded the group’s brand image.
Maison Junot now includes nineteen agencies all over the Right and Left Banks of the Seine, and even in Lille or Reuil Malmaison. Their awareness of passing on all the beauty of a prestigious heritage and an essential part of the French art of living is ever-present in their minds. From the beautiful Haussman-style parquet flooring, crown molding, and fireplaces of a private mansion, to an artist’s penthouse workshop with a view over the roofs of Paris, and the work of great architects Guimard or Mallet-Stevens, Paris is a feast for the senses of its inhabitants. Foreign investors dream of an “Emily in Paris”-type setting, in Saint-Germain-des-Prés or the romantic homes of this New Athens.
During Paris Design Week, two of Junot’s agencies will host some of design’s finest names as a way to demonstrate that the art of living in Paris is very much alive and well. At 11 Rue de Tournon in the sixth arrondissement, the Junot Fine Properties – Knight Frank agency, which is devoted to exceptional properties, also serves an international clientele, representing half of the buyers in this segment. Junot Marais on 5 Rue de Bretagne will open its doors to younger designers, just a step away from Paris Design Week Factory, where the design avant-garde is on show. In each case, the goal is to invite visitors to come see the agency, whether it’s in the daytime or during several evening openings, to chat for a bit about design, since the two fields are so closely related. This is reflected in the agencies’ decor, which offers future buyers a first impression of their modern spirit and epitomizes the mood of Junot’s magazine, on the cutting edge of current trends. Inside, you can read interviews with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Louison de Caunes, Arnaud Donckele, the three-star Michelin chef at the Cheval Blanc, and literary journalist Augustin Trapenard. And who knows? Maybe the dream can become a reality for you one day, too…
