MAD’IN EUROPE: Nuna converts natural wool & silk into felt with the Nuno felt technique to create unique pieces to wear and for the house. Yves Piérart creates unique lamps by turning, cutting and assembling wood pieces. Nuna: my work process is to convert natural wool into felt. To make the wool layer thinner and more flexible, I use silk fabrics as a support, which through the Nuno felt technique I turn into textures on the wool layer. With this design I make objects to decorate the home, as well as pieces to wear…
Yves: the technique I mostly use is the one of segmented full and /or openwork turned wood with proportional or fixed spacing. Which means that the object is divided into rings and these divided into segments… For full segmented turning, there is no spacing between the segments.
