They’ll be joining the itinerary for Paris Design Week in 2025. Let’s give a hearty welcome to Entrelacs, Kostia Art and Design Studio, Plum Living, and…the Grand Palais.
Paris Design Week provides the ideal “little black book” for design in Paris. Each year, it remakes itself, and its diverse nature does not disappoint. On the institutional side, the new center of attraction in Paris will be the Grand Palais, which, after five years of renovation, will open a permanent shop devoted to design and fine craft. This space will open in June and will be accessible beyond exhibition hours. Located at the heart of the Grand Palais, its entrance will be on the Champs-Elysées side. Fariba Khansari, who made the Centre Pompidou’s shop famous, is in charge of its curation. Inside, you’ll find exclusive editions designed by famous names or young designers and fine craft artisans. On the fine craft side, two prestigious workshops will be opening Parisian storefronts. On Rue de Lille, Entrelacs is the brand from Fonderie d’art Macheret (Macheret Fine Art Foundry), A Living Heritage Enterprise (EPV) that produces alabaster and bronze lighting fixtures as well as furnishings. Continuing the heritage of their father Philippe, Yves and Paul Macheret are making their workshop and expertise available to interiors specialists and designers, in addition to the exceptional pieces that they already produce. On Rue Bonaparte, Kostia Art & Design Studio produces fine art furnishings in limited editions for prestige projects or collectors. Kostia, a fine woodworker by trade, and his artisans, including bronze-makers and lacquer specialists, collaborate with major names in decor and have a workshop in the 11th arrondissement. On the production side, Plum Living, a producer of façades and accessories to “pimp” your IKEA kitchen, will present an exclusive collaboration in September with architect Pauline Borgia. Along with beautifully washed-out shades of color, she offers unique doorknobs that can transform simple furnishings into design objects. It’s another way to stand out from the pack.
