The AD magazine circuit of interior designers provides an opportunity to discover bespoke pieces of furniture made for private projects. As part of the noble heritage of the French decorative arts, they are destined to become the treasured antiques of tomorrow.
Each year, AD magazine publishes its AD 100 list of icons of design, architecture, and decor. Some of these prestige names will exceptionally open their doors during Paris Design Week, for a circuit under the AD banner. India Mahdavi, Charlotte Biltgen, Fleur Delesalle, Pierre Lacroix, Bruno Moinard, Pinto, Liaigre, Gilles et Boissier, Atelier Tortil…all of them will be taking part. Throughout the years, they have chosen to produce a collection of furniture that they originally designed for just one client, to fit a particular interior. These collections continue to be produced in a very limited edition, made by these same artisans of excellence, with a few variations made upon request. At Christophe Delcourt, the Delcourt Collection offers a chance for an exercise in style. This year, it’s an expression of his passion for horses, whose dual nature fascinates him: freedom and discipline, passion and precision. “Horses in my dream” is a masterpiece of woodwork and upholstery: a lounge chair wrapped in leather, a sofa whose intertwined mounts remind us of jumping obstacles, and a table whose legs reflect the movement of a galloping horse. On rue de Lille, Maylis and Charles Tassin work hand-in-hand, with him as the architect and her as the painter. Their collection is named May. This year, Maylis has designed a lamp pedestal that is highly inspired by the Maillol’s sculpted characters. A mirror, a sideboard with large ceramic facings, and wall sconces evoke a medieval inspiration. The idea is for each design to blend harmoniously into an interior alongside antiques from every era, like a new kind of classic. Nearby, Anne-Sophie Pailleret will transform the Galerie Berès on rue de Beaune into a “green haven”. This hand-sewn decorative setting seeks to keep summer alive. Fresh and enveloping, it also provides an opportunity to illustrate her collaboration with decorative painters, ceramic artists, and upholsterers. And finally, it’s a big year for Chloé Nègre : she launches, with François-Xavier Fonbonnat and Laclaux, a high-quality publishing house. The first collection will be presented during Paris Design Week in their new showroom, which also serves as the creative space of the Studio, located at 20 rue des petits champs in the 2nd arrondissement. Reflecting the essence of her style, which is inspired by “nature and joy”, the first collection already includes a coffee table, sofa, dining room table, chairs, a chandelier, and lounge chairs…It’s worth discovering, champagne in hand, during one of the special opening parties.
