From September 8 to 12, the Galerie Joseph-Turenne will be exhibiting the new publishing houses and young independent designers who responded to the call for projects of Paris Design Week.
Creative studios, young publishers, or self-publishers, of modest size but already large by the quality of their work, these new signatures write the history of the design of tomorrow. They have been in operation for some years. In their production, we can already read a strong personality and a concern for desirable development. The Désormeaux-Carrette duo will present Slean, their brand of desks and accessories specially designed for teleworkers. Nathanaël Désormeaux and Damien Carette already have their own design studio and design for Ikea, Made or Cinna. During the confinement, they decided to go further and become publishers. They produce "Le Bon Bureau", a wooden tray covered with laminate mounted on smart trestles with electrical outlets and hooks. Compact in size, it transforms into a console in the living room when work is done. In September, they will introduce the matching accessories: storage and organizer.
Made in France, in eco-responsible wood, it has already seduced companies like Doctolib which has equipped its employees...at home. At Mala Leche Design, you will also be able to discover a series of furniture and objects made of folded and lacquered aluminum with a great geometric smear. Elisabeth Baeza produces these quasi-works of art in a very small series in her studio near Brussels, in the interest of reasoned production. Same simplicity at the Figures studio which offers art editions, original drawings, as well as furniture, accessories, and textiles. The drawings exhibited are part of the abstract visual research enriching the design of their furniture. Inspired by architecture, in love with ancient techniques, they explore the kilt on cushions and the mounting of their domino furniture, the pieces being nested in each other without any screws. The wood used grows close to the manufacturing plant. Alongside them, will be the exhibition of the graduates of the ESAD Saint-Etienne and Reims. Finally, the Intramuros café is located at 116 Turenne, and you should stop here!
