With 30 years' experience in architecture, Michel Amar has developed technical expertise in the use of materials and manufacturing methods, which he now applies to furniture design. In his collections, he increasingly incorporates subtle combinations of materials that interact with each other. Like a sculptor, he explores new shapes and volumes, seeking out surprising combinations. He uses oak, alabaster, leather, onyx, walnut and bronze, and plays with the contrasts of their textures, between smooth and rough, warm and cold, soft and hard. Michel Amar is currently working on his future collections, aimed at exploring new tactile, visual and sensory experiences. See more
