5 VERTBOIS

Vertbois

Coimbra Biennial of Contemporary Art. In 1952, Le Corbusier designed for himself a small wooden building that he would occupy for years as a shelter. Le Cabanon remained for history as a reflection on the condensation of the space to inhabit, on the polyvalence of space and its uses. After this radical experience, how to think the minimal habitat and its versatility of spaces and uses, the refuge, condensed place of the comfort, and their permanence or ephemerality? This question was the challenge presented to a group of authors of different disciplinary areas such as art, architecture and design, which proposes to think and design an intimate space of shelter for themselves, where they develop their reflections on living in the 21st Century.
