The impetus given by Paris Design Week to environmental concerns, supported in this by an increasing number of participants, gives rise to many contests and exhibitions. One such contest is Design Zéro Déchet* organised by Syctom, a key stakeholder in the waste treatment sector in Ile-de-France, which showcases a wide range of solutions for reducing waste and recycling more effectively. GuiltlessPlastic, a project by the mythical Milanese gallerist Rossana Orlandi, sees the first edition of the Ro Plastic Prize 2019 with unique pieces created from recycled plastic by some of the world’s most famous designers. Check out the results at BHV MARAIS. And don’t miss “Matter Matters…” an exhibition by ENSCI – Les Ateliers, before heading to NÛR GALLERY PARIS to discover Palimpseste, a collection of unique hand-painted and embroidered pieces. To sum up the creative approach of all these eminent participants, perhaps we could say they are writing a whole new story of design!
