Thanks to its MAISON&OBJET meeting with the Peregalli studio, LCD, a manufacturer of metallic textiles, embarked on a beautiful, Italian style project.
This is exactly the profile of the Peregalli studio, a Milan-based architecture and design agency who, at the September 2016 MAISON&OBJET fair, enlisted LCD for a … very confidential project. “It took a while for us to understand that this was for Cracco,” explains Luc Druez, founder of LCD, “a luxury restaurant near La Scala in Milan that the studio wanted to redo with its typical daring. Roberto Peregalli and Laura Sartori Rimini are the ‘Prada’ of decorators in terms of color!”. Thus Peregalli studio placed an order for textiles in exceptional colors and textures, a far cry from LCD’s usual standards. “Their approach was surprisingly avant-garde since today these colors have become trendy,” notes Luc Druez who made the prototypes. “We delivered the fabrics at the end of Summer 2017 and Cracco opened in 2018 right before the Milan furniture fair. It was even featured on the cover of decoration magazines!”
For the Milan studio Peregalli, the collaboration’s success was also due to the personality of the protagonists: “Monsieur Druez was completely available and we particularly liked his story, someone passionate about music who transformed himself into a designer of metallic fabrics. His work philosophy is perfectly in synch with our own,” explains Roberto Peregalli. “Going to MAISON&OBJET definitely lets us discover interesting products for future projects without having to seek them out.” For Luc Druez “MAISON&OBJET is the opportunity to present new items in a real scenario: it is important to show that we can weave photos or drawings, play with transparencies … and create strong images that visitors will remember on the stand.”
