Inviting, ethical and trendy! Wonderwall Studios’ upcycled wood easily convinced the Option d’Interieur agency. In play: decorating an Ibis Style hotel.
“In 2016 at MAISON&OBJET, we met a director of the SMI group responsible for the development of hotel projects who was interested in our collection in salvaged wood. He first spotted us on an online architecture and design platform but when he actually saw our products on the stand, including the Jungle panels, he appreciated the design he found well-adapted to his project.” The job in question? An Ibis Style hotel in Laval near the train station. The Option d’Interieur agency, located in La Rochelle and Paris, a twenty-year specialist in hotels and restaurants, oversaw the installation.
“Wonderwall Studios’ proposition was very interesting,” confirms architect Eric Pacaud, founder and director of Option d’Interieur. “To work the hotel’s equine theme (there are many stud farms near Laval) we wanted a natural, raw material with an irreproachable origin. We are very careful that the woods we use have not been implicated in deforestation. We chose a honey-colored standing timber to partially cover the welcome area ceiling. This recycled wood gives a living, warm aspect to a place intended for exchanges and co-working.“ The Option d’Interieur agency doesn’t miss MAISON&OBJET, “especially in January to see new items. It is essential for us since we work mostly in other regions of France. We make appointments with our usual suppliers but it is also an opportunity to discover new materials, new designers and new trends. Wandering through the aisles encourages new opportunities and encounters.”
