Dedicated to decorative excellence, hall 7 each session designates its favorite designer, elected for his genius at the time. In January 2014, the focus was on the Milan studio Dimore. A/k/a the Tuscan Emiliano Salci and American Britt Moran, a curious pair whose stock is rocketing and vintage chic world is courted by a cascade of international projects.
The Dimore signature: a clever mix of past aesthetic references. Far from fashion trends, the creative duo cultivates their garden of anachronistic styles, which can be discovered in their first furniture gallery in Milan—planned for this year—a luxury hotel in Mexico City and a thousand other prestigious projects in London, Copenhagen, Chicago and New York.
If, in January 2014, Hall 7 is lit by the Dimore sun, it is also fueled by the electrifying energy of the young Turkish guard, celebrated by Talents à la Carte 2014. Selected in partnership with the Tasarim group and Turkish Airlines, six emerging designers embody the creative power of a young generation that is shaking up Istanbul in a refined, cosmopolitan and energetic way.
Reflecting a city that combines the extreme sophistication of the Ottoman heritage with the modernity of an exciting present, come discover the sustainable furniture from CEREN BASGOZE, an interior designer fascinated with the art of “upcycling,” a/k/a luxury recycling; the benevolent, poetic objects of designer MERIC KARA; modernist furniture celebrating wood from DENIZ DURU; nonconformist carved jewelery from BURCU BUYUKUNAL; surprising everyday innovations developed by UMUT DEMIREL; and furniture sculptures and revolutionary wall decorations designed by SULE KOC. A breath of fresh air live from Istanbul!
